Hmmm, would there happen to be a simple edit to make these powerups use a 16x16 player hitbox on my end? I don't mind messing around with my graphics to present the illusion of a small character (in fact I already do this in my hack for the current powerups), but I'm not seeing anything pertaining to player hitboxes, unless they simply borrow from an existing routine in SMW in which case that would make things easier on me. Some are from other Mario games, some others are completely new!* This big patch lets you to add several custom powerups to your SMW hack, as well some other utilities required for this to work. It can get a little annoying.Download the lastest release here (v3.4.2) It honestly never bothered me before, but that was before I played the Wii U iteration.įinally, the disc slot light seems to blink in sync with the music. U spoiled me, though: the game looks pretty blurry. The randomly generated Yoshi colors feel slightly fresher than the stock colors. There seems to be different checkpoint flags based on the level you're in. The first mini-boss wasn't too great, but it was nice actually fighting a new boss for once. I think it could easily pass itself off as a new entry in the series. It just feels newer than New Super Mario Bros. The world maps look great with the new landscape models. I like the idea of shops even though I don't use my items enough. One thing that bothers me is the foreground elements, but I suppose it does cleverly hide some things. Some of those Star Coins are pretty well hidden. It's really cool to finally hear more sinister tunes in castle levels.Īs far as level design, I actually think it works. I don't notice the music too much, but I think it's nice. For a fan-made project, the presentation is really good. I've gotten the opportunity to play a bit of this tonight.
